Professional and Working Cowboys Compete for the Extreme Cowboy Race Title!

The newest season of the 'Extreme Cowboy Race' pushes the limits, pairing the working cowboys against the professionals in an all-new race starting September 4th.

The new season, 'Extreme Cowboy Race #7,' is at the Saddle and Sirloin Club in Kansas City, Kansas

This season we have a well rounded group, we even have a 2 mules in the race this year. The race was shot in February, the riders not only had to focus on their times and horsemanship but they and their horses had to battle cold winter weather while they were preparing for the race.

The 'Extreme Cowboy Race' is a timed race with obstacles designed to not only push horse and rider out of their traditional comfort zone, but also test the communication and horsemanship of each team. Judges award points based on a set of five criteria: 1. Horsemanship, 2. Cadence, 3. Control, 4. Horse's attitude, and 5. Overall execution. The first round of competition features 15 horse-and-rider teams. The top eight competitors move on to Round 2 for another set of competition. The top four competitors then advance to Round 3 for an all-out race to the finish and the title of 'Extreme Cowboy.'

The 'Extreme Cowboy Race' spans 15, 30-minute episodes with each episode featuring four horse-and-rider teams as they complete the various rounds. The new season will begin Thursday, September 4th, on RFD-TV with new episodes premiering each week. Each episode will also be available on HorseCity.com to view by those who do not get RFD-TV. Also, this season all of the Extreme Cowboy Race shows will be available after the RFDTV premier on HorseCity.com.
